Lasting Power of Attorney: What are the costs?
My fees are:
£100 for a single Lasting Power of Attorney - Property & Financial Affairs or Health & Welfare.
£200 for both Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney.
£300 deal for couples - Lasting Power of Attorney Property & Financial Affairs or Health & Welfare for both.
£10 per individual letters posted to attorneys if needed, that’s UK or Internationally.
NO UPFRONT FEES: Prices include all home visits, preparation and submission.
The government fees are:
It costs £82 to register each LPA unless you get a reduction or exemption. This means it costs £164 to register both a Property & Financial Affairs LPA and a Health & Welfare LPA.
If the person making an LPA (the donor), earns less than £12,000 a year before tax they may be entitled to a 50% reduction. A guide to the government fees can be found at Applying for a reduced fee for your power of attorney - GOV.UK.
It takes 8 to 10 weeks to process and register LPA applications. This includes a statutory waiting period of 4 weeks.
